NATURE'S MIST Deodorization
Instructions
WHERE TO BEGIN?
Cover smoke alarm with shower cap or plastic bag. Spray or dust may
set off certain alarms. Remove ashtray or trash receptacles if the
room has not been cleaned.
Start at a point furthest from the door, slowly working toward the
door. This is often the manner in which airflow is designed and
which odor travel. SPRAY WITH A SLOW, EVEN STROKE about 18 to 24
inches from surface.
HVAC SYSTEM - If hotel has incremental units this is the best
place to begin the deodorization process. Remove cover of unit and
turn unit on high heat. Spray the entire unit thoroughly, including
the filter with air pressure until most of the loose dust is gone.
Once the unit if free from dust or other substances turn on the
misting and spray the entire unit. If the filter is dirty, it is
better to clean or replace than spray a dirty filter with heavy
saturation. After the entire room has been treated return to the
unit to replace the cover and turn the unit to cool or off.
CURTAINS - Treat the heaviest part of the curtains, then
sheers, valances etc. All of the fabrics should be slightly moist
for a few seconds after treating. Begin at the top and work down
horizontally on each segment of the drapery panels.
CEILING - Depending on the type of ceiling material you may
spray the ceiling from heavy to very heavy, much like the carpet.
Ceilings absorb a lot of odor so it is very important to be very
thorough in the ceiling treatment process.
BEDSPREADS - another big collector of smoke and other odors,
this should be sprayed thoroughly by treating both sides of the
bedspread. Use a moderate spray level. It should be dry to the touch
within seconds after application.
MATTRESSES AND BOX SPRINGS - These bedding pieces need to
have every surface covered with a heavy spray, top, bottom, and
sides.
FURNITURE AND OTHER HARD SURFACES - (mirrors, paintings,
Prints, etc.) - Use a light spray and do these surfaces as you treat
the rest of the room.
BATHROOMS - spray the ceiling first utilizing a light spray
if it is a painted ceiling and a heavier spray if it is a ceiling of
more absorbent substance. Spray the walls, bathtub and shower areas
keeping in mind the surface area composition. DO NOT SPRAY THE
BATHROOM FLOOR. IF IT IS A HARD SURFACE IT MAY BECOME SLIPPERY AND
POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS.
CLOSETS - Treat all surfaces including the backside of the
closet door with a moderate to heavy spray.
CARPETS - Probably the most absorbent surface in the room and
potentially the most odorous. A heavy spray may be used and this can
be left damp for several minutes.
The key is
to spray slowly and evenly. If the odor persists, re-spray as
needed.
Maintenance of Sprayer:
DAILY: Check filters on side of unit, clearing dust with finger
or small brush.
WEEKLY:
Fill unit with hot water and spray until empty.
ANNUALLY: Replace dust filter.
TURN OFF THE LIQUID NOZZLE BEFORE TURNING OFF THE SPRAYER.
This will prevent clogging and extend the life of the motor.
